L. Holmes Eleazer, Jr. is a partner in the law firm of Erwin and Eleazer, P.A. Although born in New Bern, North Carolina in 1946, Mr. Eleazer considers himself an original Charlottean having moved to Charlotte in that year with his parents. Mr. Eleazer graduated from Davidson College in 1968 with a B.A. In History. While at Davidson, he also studied a year at Philipps University in Marburg, Germany. After undergraduate school, Mr. Eleazer attended graduate school in history at the University of South Carolina. He received a Masters Degree in Modern European History in 1970.

Mr. Eleazer served as an officer in an artillery unit in the First Air Cavalry Division from late 1970 to 1973. He then entered law school at the University of North Carolina, where he was Chief Justice of the Holderness Moot Court Bench and articles editor for the North Carolina Journal of International Law and Commercial Regulation. Upon graduation, he clerked for Walter Brock,
Chief Judge of the North Carolina Court of Appeals.

Mr. Eleazer returned to Charlotte in 1978 to join the law firm of Weinstein & Sturges, P. A. In 2001, he joined with Fenton Erwin to form Erwin & Eleazer, P. A. His practice focuses on corporate law, business and commercial litigation, condemnation, appellate practice and representation of creditors in bankruptcy matters. He is admitted to practice before the U. S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the U. S. District Courts for all districts in North Carolina and the state courts of North Carolina
